Mumbai Indians might do the same for Rohit, Bumrah and Suryakumar; players arriving from Manchester to undergo six-day quarantine in their hotel rooms
The rest of the players from both India and England are expected to take a separate chartered flight to the UAE. All players arriving from Manchester are required to undergo a six-day quarantine in their hotel rooms before joining the bio-bubbles of their respective teams.
In a media statement on Saturday, Royal Challengers explained that Kohli and Siraj would be flying separately from the others as the franchise believed in “keeping safety and security of our players as the utmost priority”.
It is understood that one of the significant reasons that the Indians did not want to play was also being part of the enclosed dressing room at Old Trafford. Considering Parmar was treating a wider group of players, it was far more difficult to determine who his close contacts were. In their chats with the BCCI, the players were also concerned about the situation having an impact on their families. Most of the India players are travelling with their families including Kohli, Rohit, Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara, Bumrah, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav.
